[First Time Event] Regional Revitalization Initiative Involving Local Governments × Local Businesses × Professional Sports Teams × International Investors

Sphere Tokyo Law Office (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Attorney: Koichi Kobori, hereinafter “our firm”), which mainly serves Asian investors, entrepreneurs, and Japanese companies operating overseas, will host the “Oita Trinita & Sphere Tokyo Taizhung–Oita Business Inspection Tour” (hereinafter “this event”) from Thursday, May 29 to Sunday, June 1, 2025, in Oita Prefecture, Japan.

This four-day, three-night business tour is designed to invite investors based in Taizhung City, Taiwan to Oita Prefecture. Through interactions with prefectural officials, visits to prominent local companies, meetings with innovative entrepreneurs from other regions, and attendance at an Oita Trinita home match, the event aims to promote multicultural and cross-border business exchange.

A New Approach to Connecting Overseas Investors with Local Communities

Since our founding in 2022, our firm has grown and developed by serving Asian investors and entrepreneurs, as well as Japanese companies engaged in overseas business. In our experience, many regional governments and businesses in Japan are often overwhelmed when dealing with unfamiliar foreign companies, and we have continuously sought ways to contribute to resolving this issue.

Naturally, doing business with foreign entities begins with the need to “find” reliable partners. Can we communicate effectively? Can we trust them? Most participants feel uneasy even at this initial stage.

Even after meeting potential partners, there’s the challenge of “negotiation”—will unfavorable terms be forced upon them? Will the contract be honored? The negotiation stage is filled with its own uncertainties. And once that’s done, further doubts arise: will the counterpart fulfill payments? Will it lead to sustainable business relationships? Can it scale into further deals?

To address these concerns, Attorney Kobori, together with local financial institutions in Taichung, personally met with various companies to identify participants capable of building solid and reliable business relations. With the support of Oita Trinita, this event connects them with Oita Prefecture and its local businesses.

This event aims not only to foster goodwill but to build lasting business partnerships involving our firm, Oita Trinita, local governments, key companies in Oita, and entrepreneurs from outside the region.

Toward Further Regional Revitalization

Following this event, our firm plans to organize additional initiatives involving local governments × local enterprises × professional sports teams × overseas investors and entrepreneurs. We will continue to share updates on future events.
